The Windflower by Laura London My rating: 5 of 5 stars Someday I will write an essay on this book. It has a cult following, and I am one. Incredibly full characters, rich description, unique settings, and the old pirate romance somehow morphing into an aristocractic one. The Windflower by Laura London - WOW Aug by Bella. I don't know about you, but I love me some pirate stories! There has to be romance, of course, and the story has not be too realistic i.e. absolutely no rape. Which means no pirate romance I read is realistic. The Windflower PDF book by Laura London Read Online or Free Download in ePUB, PDF, azw3 or MOBI eBooks. By Laura London (the husband and wife team of Sharon and Tom Curtis), The Windflower is my all time favorite romance. It's worth reading again and again. It's true. I've probably read it a half dozen times over the years. I recently saw it mentioned in a blog and decided to dig it out to read yet again. I don't know why I waited so long. Plotwise, The Windflower has some relatively complicated stuff going on, set vaguely against the backdrop of the Second War of Independence. Rainbow, who has already entangled herself with the colonists’ cause, ends up being randomly captured by pirates from the cabin of a dude against whom Devoncakes just happens to have a personal vendetta. Apparently Laura London wrote romance novels from which is definitely one of the eras I tend to stay away from with a few exceptions. Once I began reading the Windflower, I was hooked, but still had questions about the morals of some of the leading men.
