Yet here it is, Hogswatchnight, that most joyous and acquisitive of times, and the jolly, old, red-suited gift-giver has vanished without a trace. Hogfather is one of the best — my favorite part is Death’s comment at the end that humans need to believe in the small lies (like the Hogfather), to be able to believe in the big lies, such as Justice, Mercy This commentary on the human condition is classic Pratchett. Curse his illness for depriving us.
